West Virginia Solar Power Installers

Saving On Solar is here to help West Virginia homeowners maximize their energy savings with solar panel installations. We have a network of licensed West Virginia solar consultants who will use your home’s size, roof type, and power usage in order to customize an affordable solar quote & design for you!

What are the benefits of going green with West Virginia solar? Well not only do renewable sources like solar create clean electricity without releasing any carbon emissions into the atmosphere but they also provide significant cost savings over time when compared against traditional power costs.

The Basics

Getting Started With Solar

Homeowners in West Virginia are ideal candidates for solar energy absorption. If your area or utility offers net metering, you’ll receive a credit for the excess energy you produce, effectively reducing or eliminating your utility bill.

How Solar Works:

  1. Sunlight strikes the cells of a solar panel causing electrons to flow & creating an electrical current.
  2. This energy is channeled into an inverter where it is converted from DC to AC power in order to provide energy to your home.
  3. If your area qualifies for net metering, you will be credited for excess energy generated.
  4. You can then use those credits later during hours of low sunlight.
How WV Solar Works | Saving On Solar

Your Solar, Your Way

Know Your Solar Options

There are the three primary types of solar systems:

Grid-Tied Solar System

Solar panels are installed and the energy generated is used to power your home or business. Excess energy produced by your solar panels is sent to the grid and you get credits. When no energy is generated by the panels, you draw power from the grid, using credit first.

Grid-Tied With Battery Back-Up

Solar panels are installed and the energy generated is used to power your property. When no energy is generated, you get power from your battery first, then if necessary, from the grid. Once your battery is full, you still send energy back to the grid and you get a credit.

Stand Alone (Off-Grid) Solar

Solar panels are installed and the energy generated is used to power your property and charge your battery. When no energy is generated, you'll get power from your battery. You are not tied to the grid and have complete energy independence.

Note: we currently do not offer Off-Grid solar installations.

Solar Power Systems in West Virginia

Avoid Power Outages with Solar Battery Storage

Enjoy Energy Independence

Solar energy is great, creating clean, “free” energy to power your home. But when the sun sets or the power grid fails, you need a backup to ensure your home’s critical systems and appliances keep running! Solar batteries can store the excess power your solar panels generate and provide “around the clock” protection from power outages. In addition, you’ll have greater freedom to make and store your own energy, and reduce your energy cost by “selling” excess power back to the utility company. Stored energy can even be used during peak hours to reduce energy bills. Solar batteries are available in a variety of capacities of up to 10 kWh and additional units can be added for additional capacity.

$0 Down Solar Financing

$0 Down Financing

If you’ve been putting off getting solar because of the upfront costs, then there is no better time than now to get started. With $0 down solar loans, your monthly payments will likely be less than what you're currently paying for electricity and you'll save thousands of dollars over the term of the loan!

Federal Solar Tax Credit

Federal Solar Tax Credit

ONLY AVAILABLE FOR HOMEOWNERS THROUGH 2022

Through 2032, the credit is 30% of the total installation cost for homeowners. Commercial installations are eligible for the 30% tax credit through 2024.

Net Metering

Net Metering

When you install solar panels on your roof, net metering laws allow residents and businesses to sell any excess power generated back onto the grid. This shows up as a credit on your electric bill, saving you money every month.

Solar Sales Tax Exemption

Tax Exemptions

To incentivize solar, states often allow solar systems to not have sales tax applied to the price. Also, increases in your home’s value are exempt from increases in corresponding property taxes.

Increase Home Value With Solar Panels

Tax-Exempt Increase in Home Value

According to Zillow, home's with solar are worth 4.1% (on average) more than those without. Traditionally, if your house's worth goes up, so do the property taxes. Unlike other improvements like new floors or paint jobs which may result in some unwanted tax hikes for homeowners, solar panels are free of any taxation in many states.

Competitive Solar Pricing

Discounted Products

Saving On Solar's providers have tremendous buying power that allows them to purchase high volumes of solar panels at discounted prices. These savings are then passed to home and business owners!

30% Tax Credit Available to Homeowners Through 2032

Federal Tax Credit Extended!

Homeowners in West Virginia qualify for a 30% tax credit through 2032. Beginning in 2033, the tax credit will diminish to 26%, then 22% in 2034, before going away the following year.

Keep in mind that a tax credit works differently than a tax deduction. A credit means you’ll be directly refunded on your federal taxes for the qualified amount. For example, if you pay $20,000 for a 6kW solar system during the current tax year, you’ll be credited $6,000 on that year’s tax returns, bringing the true cost of your solar installation down to $14,000.

$0 Down Financing Options

Solar is an amazing investment for your home! There are several financing options available, and they all require $0 down and are easy to qualify for. The most popular option is a home solar loan or a home equity loan – which will still let you take advantage of the Federal tax credit that comes with getting solar panels installed on your house in West Virginia.

Invest Smart

Increase Your Home's Value

A solar panel installation can provide West Virginia homeowners with a relatively quick ROI by immediately reducing or eliminating your electric bill and adding tax-exempt value to your home. This is true even if you have a loan, as the monthly payment on solar panels will typically be less than what you were paying for electricity every month before installing them. On average, the added value to homes in terms of price per square foot increased 4.1%, according Zillow!

Understanding Net Metering

Reduce or Eliminate Your Electric Bill

Curious about how much money you can save with solar? A typical West Virginia home with solar panels will produce more power than it needs during peak hours. With grid-tied systems, all the energy that is not used by a household goes back to the energy grid and receives credit for it because of net metering. This means when you use less electricity from your electric meter as well – causing your bill and meter to run backwards!
